MemberMark Dixon has got in touch with me. He works for Silverstone energy.
The velothon has contact numbers on their website and one such number, for locals living in that area is where you can ring and find out more about the road closures. Unfortunatly they put the wrong number on their website. They put Silverstones number on. So Mark has been getting loads of calls asking him about the road closures in and around Cardiff.
Mark got hold of Velothon and they gave him one free entry into the ride.
He would like to sell it for charity, ideally at the face value cost which I think is £65.
Anyone interested in making an offer then please reply here or get in touch with Mark directly at Silverstone energy. Velothon need to know who will be taking the ride by middle of next week. Thanksbutcherboy
MemberWell done to all who rode yesterday. It was great to see so many Dynamo shirts out on show.
Tough route but in lovely weather, for a change!butcherboy
MemberCan`t believe it. This Tuesday sees the last turbo session of the winter. Hurrah I hear you cry!
Thank you all for supporting us. I think in between the sweat and aching legs you have all enjoyed it. It has been a great success this year with a fantastic atmosphere in the room. It has been lovely to see so many new faces and I really hope that we can encourage you all to come out with us on our week day rides (which will start Tuesday 29th March).
I must say on behalf of the club a big thank you to Jon for giving his time to take the sessions. Apart from some of his music tastes he has been brilliant.
So try and make every effort to turn up for the last session and you never know, there might be a little treat at the end for you all!!butcherboy

MemberJust found out some further info –
Pedals on the bikes accept Look Keo Cleats.
If you haven’t got them then training shoes should be worn. Bikes will have toe straps
MUST wear gloves.
MUST wear a helmet.
Helmets are provided on the day but not gloves. (They are £6)
I suggest taking your own gloves and helmet along.
They ask that you wear 2 layers of clothing on your upper body and obviously Cycling shorts.
The cost of hiring the bikes is £10 each, payable on the day.
Total cost of track hire and coach for the 2 hours is £225.00.
I suggest if we all put £10 each towards it and the club will pay the rest?butcherboy
MemberJust to remind you all, its this Sunday between 12-2pm. Names down to go from the list above –
Dan, Ian, Pete, Huw, Simon, James, Colin + 2, Sweaty and myself.
Plenty of room for more. If you are interested either let us know on the forum or you can turn up on the day in Newport.
Not sure about travel arrangements. Simon, is your offer of a mini bus still there? Either way we need to arrive in Newport by 11.30 at the latest.butcherboy
MemberThank you for the offer Simon. Great idea. I will hopefully take you up on it some time. Had our staff party last night so the last thing I needed was a turbo session this morning! Did manage to go out for a couple of hours this morning to clear the head. Weather wasn`t bad either.

MemberThank you for that post…. As chairman I will be relying on my judges, Huw Hollywood and Sweaty Berry to guide me through the evening…see you there.
I have heard Roger has changed his name by deed poll to A Rees. Not sure why? Maybe he wants to ride his bike faster. So he will be picking up the tab.

MemberYes great route and great company. Thank you all. Really enjoyed that. Glad to get home though, crawled the last 10k, not much left in the legs at the end.

MemberA big thank you to all Dynamos who helped on the feed station. Well done to Stumpy for his first class organisation. Also to Clare and her team from the Narberth scouts who worked their socks off all day.
I have received an email through Clare from one of the athletes who said our feed station was by far the best on the course (I wont tell you what he said about the feed stations at Lamphey and Angle). He also said he couldn`t believe how helpful we all were. Things like holding the bikes for them when they went to the toilet and when they came out their bottles were filled and food waiting for them. It makes it all worth while when you hear comments like that.
So once again thank you all very muchbutcherboy
