Tom has suggested Wednesday 4th March for the bike fit workshop. I think Andrew Wright, Graham, Johnny Mad Doig, Our Glorious Chairman and, hopefully, my Sweaty Self will be attending and enjoying a complimentary buffet of the finest champagne and ethically farmed beluga caviar as well as measuring our most private dimensions.

    Anyone else fancy it?

    Five things we learnt today
    1. Jaguar SatNavs don’t recognise Newport as a place worth stopping in.
    2. Roger’s black list of cyclists that have beaten him keeps getting longer.
    3. If you bring your own bike to the Velodrome, it’s a shame to spoil the effect by falling off.
    4. Sometimes your brain cannot understand things that really are happening, like when you’re flying round the bend above the blue line and the Dynamos train, impossibly, passes below you.
    5. There is a fine line between having the time of your life and shitting yourself.

Thanks for arranging this, Stumpy. Thanks for the great day everyone.

    Hi Mate.

    How’s fatherhood?

Kudos to Emma for getting a discount on the gilet because Peter is selling them at cost.

The jackets are worth more than the price they are being sold for, ask for a discount by all means (maybe send Emma) but, again, he is selling them at cost.

Loving the look of the ride, Dan, too far for me, of course.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend. My wife is taking me away for a weekend of horse racing and high jinx.

    Have a good ride.

(Roger, try to avoid obvious pun. That’s if you still read the forum because you obviously don’t ride your bike any more.)

Winter jackets back in stock in Pembrokeshire Bikes with tidy sleeve lengths.

Went out wearing mine tonight. Weather bloody freezing, Sweaty nicely toasty. In addition to that it’s good quality Dynamos branded kit at a reasonable price available locally.

As an added ‘bonus’ I got wolf whistled by Kerri Barnes the lollipop lady.

    F..k me, Julie
    I think that is truly
    A fantastic idea
    At this time of year.
    I’m hoping to make it
and that my candle stays lit
But you forgot in your rhyme
    To specify a time
    For us to embark
    On this festive lark.

    Permit a suggestion,
    This really isn’t banter
    Why don’t we organise
    A dynamos secret Santa.
    Actually, no
    Ignore that
    The last thing I want
Is a Worzels album from Mat (G)

I’ve asked Tom from Pembs Bikes to answer your question.

Pembrokeshire Bikes are in the process of shortening the arms on all the winter jackets. Should be even more snug and gorgeous after Santa’s elves have finished with them.

Will be back in stock before Xmas. I’ll keep you updated.

Since I started work again I’ve slightly less time than when I was a man of leisure, so here is a quick rundown of today’s highlights. Apologies to all.

    Sixteen starters
    Valleyfolk pre-nine
Captain North’s fine new club jacket, excellent sleeve length
    Nice to see Celia…
    …briefly
    Tidy road through Wiston
    Red dogging van in bushes
    Ironman 20 minute absence…
    …unexplained
    Crap road to Houghton
    Queues of traffic behind
    Punctures
    Mechanical
Not a great place for a wee
    Crazy descending
    Blustery bridge
    Nobody gets left behind…
….as long as they can keep up
    Race for home

    Five things we have learnt;
    1. When Celia turns for home you probably won’t catch her even if you are an Ironman
    2. Despite all the evidence from my life so far saying it surely cannot be so, the road into Haverfordwest is sometimes better than the road out of it.
    3. Cycling in single file means different things to different people.
    4. If you are going to spend Saturday afternoon fixing your front derailleur it’s probably worth a quick glance at the rear one.
    5. I would imagine that Rory won his bet.

    See you at Turbo.
