MemberHey Roger, check out this snap…

You could almost be my grandad.
Rogue Dynamo 1 in the background identified as Aled Davies: Nephew of Kenny (the shirt printer).
Rogue Dynamo 2 (link below) Adam Jon. He’s never been out with us.

MemberMuch to Rogers despair his attempt at grabbing the limelight was overshadowed by a real crash. Enough has been written about that (except the bit where the Slinkster saved the day), so lets concentrate of the what, why’s and WTF’s of Rogers short off-road adventure.
So the Slink was spearheading the ‘peloton’ down to St Davids when all of a sudden there was a rustling sound which could only mean we had a CODE ZERO i.e… wheel on verge. I turned round to see Roger – pale faced and sweaty struggling to control his stead which by now was doing no more that 2 mph. In the most pathetic way possible Roger then proceeded to ‘crash’ into the hedge, well it was more of a ‘lean’ given the speed.
He skulked at the back of the group for a bit for a few miles, red faced and grassy.
After some questioning about what had happened we concluded that nothing whatsoever had caused him to hit the verge other than him turning the front wheel of the bike towards the verge and then not turning the wheel to avoid the verge.
A good first outing for the Slinkster for one of the longer rides. The pace was a bit hot for me if I’m honest, I got back to Narberth ready for the sofa (and not a marathon). All good training though. Congrats to Anthony for breaking his distance PB and thanks to Andrew and Roger for the good pace.

MemberThe Otters snout started twitching then… we doing the 50?
The Slinky Otter
MemberIts as wet as an Otters pocket out there.
The Slinky Otter
MemberWell… another ride done. Had some lovely weather in between the showers and howling wind. Got a bit lost around Newport (missed a turning), so ended up doing 80 miles instead. Did a reverse of the route so went to St Davids first, Fishguard, Newport and up Bwlch Y Gwynt (in a howling southerly). Great views though.

The Slinky Otter
MemberTwo words: Slinkster + there.
The Slinky Otter
MemberSo, just come back.
Brutal, that’s the word I’m going to use, brutal!
Average a weasley 14.5mph. Left a bit of my soul on the hill coming out of Newcastle Emlyn.

MemberValleyMan, like M People once sang…. Search for the hero inside yourself.
The Slinky Otter
MemberNot that anyone here seems to care, we’re meeting at 8am in Bloomfield now instead
The Slinky Otter
MemberThe Slinkster, wont be there, he is competing in the pram push and will probably win.

MemberI must admit you did look quite the part when I saw you fly past. The new tops look slick. I was explaining to the wanna-be-dynamo that the group has never never been that organised before and he shouldn’t expect anything like it again, especially when the Slink is mixing it up mid-pelaton.
Looks like Slink is moving holts (I think that’s what an otters ‘house’ is called) this week, so I’m not around mid week. I’m all guns blazing for Sunday though.
The Slinky Otter
MemberGood to see you all today briefly. Rhysie tucked in behind someone as always

I was breaking in a new Dynamo, he said he’d be on board this Wednesday.
We did the short IM loop with a few extras, lovely day for it.
The Slinky Otter
MemberThe Slinkster will be there
The Slinky Otter
MemberCool.
