Cool, I figured I should be okay feeling surprisingly well after the angel. I didn’t know whether I was expecting too much and should calm down and do one or the other. I’m hoping to use the sportive as something of a reliability ride as a final prep for the tour. Last year I completed the tour but it hammered me, this year I want it to be my turn.
any thoughts on whether it is too much to ride full rides on both the Wales Sportive and the Tour Of Pembrokeshire? Any tips for speeding the recovery in between?
Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one suffering yesterday! I have been pleased with my hill climbing this year, but I lost the section from climing Carn Ingli until I got to Crymych, had empty lead legs.
Found myself after Crymych and had a good final session.
I totally misjudged this ride, for some reason I thought that the first loop was a good season opener for the Sportive season and that the second loop was a rolling section punctuated by 4 mean climbs. Instead it seemed to be an excercise in how many times can we go up and down the valley sides?
That said, what a stunning place to ride! Beautiful, good company, I really enjoyed myself. Have to say the pasta was a welcome treat at the end as well.
Look forward to catching up with you guys on the Wales Sportive if not on a ride before.
