    As you should all know by now the Wales iron man is running on Sunday 11th September.

    For every 10 volunteers the club will get £200.

    I have said that we will supply at least 10 so please can you put your names forward to help on the day. You can also ask family and friends to come along and help.

    They are looking for marshalls for the route, also what they call Draft Busters which means you will ride on the back of a motorbike around the coarse and stop any cyclist from drafting.

    Also, on the Saturday the athletes have to check they`re bikes in. It will be on the south beach car park in Tenby and they will need help in putting the 1,450+ bikes on racks. I bet there will be some tasty bikes there to see.

    Kim and I are happy to help. I suggest that Roger is kept well away from the bikes in Tenby; perhaps he could cycle round as a draft buster… 😆

    The IronMan organisers have asked that all volunteers fill in the attached form. Please return to Andrew ASAP so he call collate and send them in together to claim £200.00 (provided we get 10!). A covering letter of explanation is also attached.

    Hi All,

    The event organisers are looking for 2 volunteer cyclists to ride the marathon course section of the Ironman event and act as an escort for the 1st elite male and female competitors during the final run section. Good way to display your club colours and no doubt get on TV !

    You would need to be available on the day from approx 12 noon to 4pm.

    Can i just say a massive thank you to all who helped on sunday. Every one did a great job in making it the best feed station i`ve seen.

    Also well done to Swanny and all the competitors who took part.

    Just to reinforce Andrew’s comments, the guy manning the timing mat just down the road from the feed station said it was one of the best run feed stations he has seen in the many events he has attended.
