The burning issue of our times – Who is VP?
Mystery posting on the forum from our Chairman’s new friend has led to frenzied speculation as to her (?) true identity….
Could it indeed be the Queen of the Track? After all if you had spent 10 years in a regimented dietary regime, could you resist the charms of our stocky little award winning Butcher with promises of pork pies, sausages and offal for life?
Roger has been putting a few posts up recently crying off various rides for a variety of reasons; but has anyone actually seen him? It is beyond the bounds of possibility that he has gone on yet another holiday?
Could it be Janice? No longer content to be a WAG, is this her lycra clad alter ego preparing to burst triumphantly onto the Pembrokeshire cycling scene?
Has Andrew resurrected a childhood imaginary friend to boost his self-esteem following the hammering he took this year at the hands of his cycling nemesis?
Is this one secret that will follow the Chairman to his grave?
We will find out soon…..

October 6, 2012 at 10:39 am #25107VPMemberHi all
Sorry haven’t posted for a few days – been busy rehearsing my dance routine. I really can’t understand why you don’t know who I am!! Think of the clues – spent summer in London; training for dance competition; stood on podium; new set of wheels from sponsor; love getting out on the road on my wheels!
All will be revealed soon if you can’t guess!!!

No the name is Vera Powell and I’m from Blackpool! I was in London over the summer, working as a toilet cleaner in the Olympic stadium. I was so good at the job that got promoted to clean the medal podium after just 3 days – that in fact was an Olympic record – never been achieved before – privvy to podium in 72 hours! I have since retired as I wanted to go out on a high and Rio is a long way off!
Motability, which were one of the main sponsors were so impressed that they sent me the latest motability scooter to replace my old one – a G3 600 turbo injection – which is why I was so impressed that Andrew could keep up with me on his mountain bike! My scooter has a top speed of 14.6 MPH – he did well to hang on as we flew up hills!!
As for the dance competition, me and my husband Stan have entered the North West of England over 64 cha cha dance off. We’re getting quite good although Stan’s dicky hip is proving to be a bit of a problem – still, Andrew was able to give me some tips to cope with that as we cruised around Cyprus.
I’m still planning to join you on one of your Sunday rides – have to be after the competition now as I have to concentrate on my latin steps.
Talk soon
