Is there many riding the Narcar this year? It will be on Friday 6th May which will soon be here. Can`t ride the Carten again this year because work has got in the way, but I might be able to ride some of the Narcar and turn around half way.
April 11, 2016 at 9:28 pm #28775MatGMemberI am planning on doing narcar & carten.
April 11, 2016 at 11:44 pm #28776Julian MTMemberI’m signed up for the Carten and am up for Narcar. Not done it before, but would suggest the 2012 route, posted by Huw last year: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/177642357, but with a diversion through Meidrim to avoid the first bit of the dual carriageway without a cycle path.
April 12, 2016 at 6:57 pm #28777FlapjackmanMemberIām doing the Narcar and Carten, Mat has booked the spare bed in my Premier Inn room. Is anyone being kind enough to transport bags up to Cardiff ?
April 18, 2016 at 6:08 am #28789MatGMemberJulian can you post your potential route how many extra miles. Missing the dual carriageway sounds good.
April 18, 2016 at 12:37 pm #28790Julian MTMemberMatt – I haven’t done a route yet, but the Meidrim detour would add around 4 miles max, plus a bit of climbing. Rejoin the dual carriageway at Bancyfelin where the cycle path starts. I would then go through Johnstown and up Monument Hill into Carmarthen. We can avoid a bit more traffic/lights by going over the pedestrian bridge in Carmarthen and rejoining the main road near the railway station.

May 1, 2016 at 8:22 pm #28813AdzMemberI up for the NarCar, hope for better luck than last year. Are there any plans with support and luggage car?
May 2, 2016 at 5:46 pm #28814butcherboyMemberMy son Tomas will be going to Cardiff on Friday.
He can take your bags up for you. (As long as there isn’t too many of you, he’s only got a Clio!). I will arrange to be in Bloomfield car park to meet you all at 8.45am. Still not sure wether I can cycle at least half way with you guys yet.
He will be getting to Cardiff around 4.30-5pm. He will go straight to the premier hotel for you and if you haven’t arrived by then perhaps he can leave them in reception for you all.
You will have to arrange for your bags to be taken back to Tenby. I think that Carten will do that for you. Better check in case you need to book that.
If that’s ok for you all. If you get a better offer that’s fine.May 2, 2016 at 7:42 pm #28815Julian MTMemberMy other half, Julie, is driving up on Friday morning and can also take some bags up to the Premier Inn in Churchill Way. Please put labels on bags, as she’ll drop them off in the hotel when she gets into Cardiff late morning. Same time, same place – 8.45 a.m. on Friday at Bloomfield – for the bag pick up, but if Thursday is more convenient for anyone, I’m happy to take your bags from Bloomfield on Thursday evening at 6.00 p.m. if you let me know in advance. If Haverfordwest is easier for anybody, you can drop your bag into my office at 5 Picton Place any time before 5.00 p.m. on Thursday.
May 3, 2016 at 10:25 pm #28816Julian MTMemberSuggested NarCar route, based on NarCar 2014, but with diversion through Meidrim: https://www.strava.com/routes/4873762.
Does anyone need their bag picked up from Bloomfield on Thursday evening?May 6, 2016 at 8:58 pm #28825MatGMemberNominations for disaster ride…
Rode down the hill from Templeton had a blow out. Rang Julian said sorry can not come today need to go home & change my tyre. He very kindly said don’t worry I will come and pick you up take you home drive back to Bloomfield. Which we did so we all set. Before I had ridden out of Narberth I had another blow out had to ring Pembrokeshire Bikes get them to bring a new tyre and inner tube. So 3 punctures in 100 miles I had 2 tyres shredded in 1 mile.
