MemberWe are organising a cycling treasure hunt on the 24 July as part of Civic Week. General details are on the News & Social Page. We will need a few volunteers to marshal the route, probably 6 to 8, between 2pm and 4pm. Please let me know if you can help out.
Our Chairman has already bagged the handing out of pencils and quiz sheets as it will be based in the Dingle Club.
If you know anyone who might be willing to donate a prize in return for a bit of publicity (or pure altruism) please could you let me know.
PS Roger, just in case you were hoping to bag a meat pie from our lead sponsor, no prizes will be awarded to entrants on Orbea carbon framed bikes.

MemberValleyman, as club secretary, I think I’m right in saying that?, if you send an email requesting a prize donation to lallen-clarke@southhooklng.com and explain that its for Narberth Civic week etc they may donate something. I’ll give them a heads up in the morning. You never know they may be forthcoming, they are sponsoring the ride on the 14th of August as well.

PS: I’ll drop a cheque in, once it stops bleeding raining

Thanks for that, I will send them an email.
Hope you enjoyed the Merlin more than I did (well the second half anyway!)

MemberYes it was ok for me. I past the psychological ’10 miles to go’ sign but, after Nantgaredig it was all uphill! there were quite a few people walking like John Wayne afterwards. At least the weather was nice.
I hadn’t entered a sportive before that had a ‘finish’ time as well as a ‘chip’ time. The difference being that the ‘finish’ time is from the event start to when your chip goes over the finish mat. The ‘chip’ time is when your chip goes over the start mat till it crosses the finish mat.
Simples when you know.

MemberKim, Andrew, Leighton and I rode the course this morning to set the questions. We will need help next Sunday to marshal the course, hand out the questionnaires and then mark them. We therefore need at least 10 members. Please can you confirm by replying to this post if you can help. Suggest we meet at the Dingle Club at 1.30. Andrew suggests that we could have a couple of beers after and perhaps watch the end of the final stage of the tour.

MemberJust like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped on the treasure hunt. Thanks to Jonnathon (South Hook LNG) and Jon (Tenby Cycles) for donating the prizes.
Also thanks to all 16 who took part. Lets hope we might see a few of them join our club.
