I have been searching for routes to do as I am upping my mileage and don’t really know many longer routes. I know, I thought, I will use one of the rides that is helpfully provided on our website. 🙄 It started out fine, beautiful views over the Preseli’s and DRY weather. Then I began final part of the route, through Glandwr, after passing through Rhydowen, which reminded me of a scene from Royston Vasey (apologies if anyone from the club lives here) I started to climb the muddy oil slicked road, my rear wheel sliding about as I rose out of the saddle. I then took a wrong turn down to Cefn y Pant, which was on the edge of my photocopied piece of map, thought I might be able to continue on this road to Whitland, but decided against it when I noticed the descent into another valley coming up. It was also starting to get cold and a bit dark. I retraced my route to the road to Whitland and Phoned Patrick to ask him to rescue me in Whitland, the thought of going up that hill too much for me 😳
Don’t think I’ll be doing that route again in the near future! (hope its not Sundays ride)
