Fellow Dynamos, I cordially invite you to join me in growing a moustache for the 30 days of November. Please join my team ‘Narberth Dynamos’ after registering following this link

    http://uk.movember.com/?home

I know not all of us will be able to carry facial hair with the aplomb of our effortlessly stylish Chairman or grow a full Brian Blessed in 30 minutes like testosterone-filled Valleyman, but its for a good cause.

I should think that by the 10th November our end of season dinner might be mistaken for a Freddy Mercury tribute convention.

    More details below.

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Once registered at movember.com each Mo Bro must begin the 1st of Movember with a clean shaven face. For the entire month each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache. There is to be no joining of the mo to the sideburns (that’s considered a beard), there’s to be no joining of the handlebars to the chin (that’s considered a goatee) and each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman.

A Mo Sista is essentially a woman who loves a Mo. An individual that is dedicated to supporting the Mo Bros in her life through their moustache growing journey; whether it be a friend, colleague, family member or partner. These inspirational women are committed to raising awareness of men’s health issues and much needed funds for men’s health along the way.

Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November and through their actions and words raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.

Just about to treat myself to my weekly shave (got to look presentable for Turbo) so will leave the top lip unmolested and see how it looks.

OK on the Team and had a trial run.

Is there anyone with previous experience of the cultivation and management of facial hair that could point me in the direction of an authoritative source on the shaping of moustaches.

It is fair to say that Mrs ValleyMan (aka ValleyGirl) is not enamoured at this latest development and it looks like all my energies until the end of November can now be focused on growing my moustache.

Mate, I think you may be expecting this to be something it just isn’t going to be.

With the exceptions of Des Lynam, Tom Selleck and that girl I tried to pull at the Bath University Fresher’s Week Pickled Onion Eating Contest in 1983, no-one, but no-one, looks good with a moustache.

I was complemented on my tache many times, when I had one, and the boys have requested that I grow one.

I’ve joined your team, a few of us in the office were doing it anyway. Not sure whether Valleyman and Roger are pulling a flanker but when i joined the team last night there was only one other member, your good self!! Perhaps they are a little wary about putting pictures of their furry top lips on the world wide web?!!

OK, I’m on board as well. I will have to confess first of all that I’m going to bend the rules to optimise ‘growing time’. I’m going away halfway through Movember and so I opted a week ago to stop shaving. So I will only have 3 weeks to see where I get to. If last year is anything to go by, Fu Manchu became more Sanchez on a bad day.

Anyway, big tidy up tonight. 8)

Definitely signed up but haven’t posted a ‘before’ photo yet as very rarely clean shaven in the first place. Like Stoneditch I might have cheated by a couple of days as it seems a shame to remove the slight developing fuzzy….
