End of season fun in the sun

I’ve managed to finally get away after a busy summer of cycling – opted for a post season recovery break in Cyprus. Weather out here is glorious with some great roads for cycling. Not so much fun on your own though as Janice has opted to stay by the pool.Met a fellow cyclist today, so have a training partner – mind you – she’s bloody good!! Says she’s on a warm down after a busy summer and training for some dance competition – can’t say any more than that

Another amazing day in the saddle with my new cycling partner.I told her all about the Dynamos and gave her our details. I’ve invited her to become an honory member.Came back to Villa to find Janice frazzled to a crisp!

I have just met your Chairman and he has asked me to tell you all that he has met and cycled with the real VP. I have to say, I am well impressed with his cycling skills- he passed me on a really steep hill – something my training partners fail to do! He has told me so much about the club and it’s members…Sweaty, I hope your bottom gets better soon…. and Roger – stick at it – you’ll catch the others up eventually………. or did I get that the wrong way around?? Had a great ride this morning with your chairman -had to cool off in the sea half way through.

Hope you guys had a good ride this morning in Carmarthen, and I hope the weather wasn’t as bad for you as it was for us today – we had to cut our ride short – it was too bloody hot- 32 degrees in the shade!!!

Valleyman – I’m a vegan so pork pies are out of the question! Had a short ride today as it was soooo hot.Lovely dip in the sea afterwards tho!! Very excited when I returned to my hotel – my sponsors have sent me a new set of wheels in appreciation of my achievment in London.Pity I’ve retired – might reconsider – you heard it here first!! Can’t wait to get out on them tomorrow.

Went out for another ride with Andrew today – weather very hot again so decided to stop off for a cool down in the med. I must say, the talents of your chairman never fail to impress me. Today he taught me a few new dance steps – quick steps I think they were – or it might have been the fact the sand was scorching and he had nothing on his feet! Also taught me some arm positions – amazing what ‘Come on Eileen’ played at the beach bar can inspire!

Final ride of the warm down today. I must say Andrew is very good on hills – I struggle to keep up! I do feel sorry for his poor wife who decided to forego the joys of two wheels and opted to relax by the pool, watching paint dry; sticking needles in her eyes and pulling her toenails out without anaesthetic – apparently more fun then cycling in this heat!!

Well it’s been an honour to be allowed to post on this forum – as exciting as standing on that podium. Hopefully I’ll be able to join you on one of your Sunday rides soon.
