Cyclone 24 Event – Newport Velodrome
On October 22nd we are looking for two Cycle-Fit/TENBY CC teams to take part in the Cyclone 24 Event at Newport Velodrome. The event itself is to raise money for The Queens Hall, Narberth and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. The CF Trust is very close to Chris & Merrilee’s heart as their Daughter Mia is undergoing treatment herself.
The challenge is to cycle around the velodrome for up to an hour, then take a break and start again. There will be people giving those tired legs and shoulders massages throughout the event and refreshements. It’s not a race but a challenge so please don’t think you have to compete against anyone.
The entry fee is £150 per entry and a £50 deposit is needed asap to confirm your place so feel free to raise money via sponsorship. We also have a chance to raise money and cover our own sponsorship by arranging some long Dvd Turbo sessions at the Queens Hall using their very large cinema screen. Dates to follow.
I already have the names for the first team and have a few interested for the second so let me know asap. There are 6 cyclists per team but to have a couple of reserves would be great. We also have to attend two training days which I will arrange and get back to you.
