Last year the polo shirt for the carten said Probably the hardest ride in Wales – although most people thought it was it probably the easiest 100 miler in Wales.
This year new route & big wind against us the whole way. The goodies took 9.5 hours with about 8 hours riding! – which was longer than they took the tour of pembrokeshire & much longer than long course.
I think this was a hard sportive standard & last 40 miles very hard.
Do you agree?
In fact previously I haven’t thought the course was very good but thought it was excellent this year
Did anyone have any problems?
Why the different names
most rode cardiff to tenby
i rode cardiff to templeton – decided by the time I got to tavernspite done all the hard stuff & couldn’t be bothered to cycle to tenby just to turn around & cycle to templeton
someone rode cardiff to carmarthen
Bizarre thing that the day before when 18 rode narcar with wind behind us mainly rode slower than into wind on carten.
After stopping for lunch in Neath I decided to pick up the pace & sped off through traffic only to turn around & find no one there – I had gone the wrong way luckily people wearing yellow rain jackets helped me spot them!
I know it bucks recent tradition of bloging about the cycling – but to quote mrs doyle “go on go on go on”
Feel free to put it into song fog on bwllch is all mine all mine
How can I upload pictures into the NarCar/Carten gallery? or am I not worthy? Also wanted to upload some pics that I took on the Sunday ride. It would be pretty useful to allow folks to share their pics online in this way. I see that the Aces went to Dale on Sunday and did a lot of posing.
Only the site adminstrator can add photos to the Gallery on the website which is a pain. However, the new forum allows photos (and videos as I discovered after the Carten) by pointing at a url.
I have therefore set up a Flickr Account (Yahoo ID: narberth_dynamos Password: bloomfield)
What you can then do is upload the photos to Flickr (Please try and use Sets or Groups) and then share then via the formum by pasting the url into your post (see above)
Simples
No doubt Leighton will have a more elegent solution but he is stuck on a beach at present.
