We are planning to do the Long Course route this Sunday starting in Bloomfield it is 70 miles, say start at 8am any different please post, route on link below
Mark, Huw and myself met up at bloomfield. On the way out of Narberth we met Matt G.
We made good time, by 9 oclock we were riding past the leisure centre in Tenby and were looking out for the Aces ready to shoutDynamos Rule` but we must of just missed them. We put the hammer down towards Pemboke and worked well together. We met Dai Swan in Lamphey and he kept the pace up.
By the time we got on to the ridgeway it was almost 11 and Mark only had a pass until 12. So we cut down to Milton, Carew and turned right in Cressely through Jeffreston and Reynalton. We split up at the top of Reynalton and Mark and i got back to Narberth by 10 to 12.
Bit of a pain starting at 8 o`clock but to get in 65+ miles and still be home by 12 was great.
I really enjoyed the route and the company today, great ride.
Cracking run this morning, bit miffed with Garmin (we have a disagreement, I’m convinced it’s more than .25m between Hodgeston and Cressely!) However, otherwise a great ride out. The weather mostly behaved, only a few little soakings, quickly dried off.
One small point to note – don’t go to Tesco when you have postride munchies, it’s expensive and fattening! 😆
amendment (ridgeway turnoff to jeffreyston junction)4.2 miles according to Google, grrr!
Thanks guys had a good ride, and was back by 12 noon.
PS. Andrew(Murphy) – my wife wants to know where you were?
Excellent ride – thanks all – good pace
I recomend doing this ride or short TOP at least once every other month – means get used to ride, working together … hopefully can get a fast time on the day. But worth doing 0800hrs start on those days
