Anyone fancy this next year:
http://www.opencycling.com/wales-in-a-day/
Can’t open the link from my phone what are the details. In principle sounds good. What about a trip ferry from Pembroke Dock to Ireland cycle up to the top of Ireland ferry to holyhead then cycle back
Sounds good Mat…Im up for any Huge rides!!!!
Mat………..it’s: ‘Wales in a day’….a whole country from top to bottom in just one day. 190 miles of the best countryside Wales has to offer to a cyclist
Managed to open link… 22nd July looks good. I’d be up for it there is always the option of just riding it ourselves as a group ride. Either way sounds good.
Fits in with my term dates. At the moment I am very interested. Need to have a plan regarding transport etc
It’s my other half’s birthday, so just put me down as a maybe for now !!!
Very interested. I think Jan would drive up and meet in Chepstow. Anything for a couple of nights away!
I know Cardiff Ajax did something similar but under their own steam with a support van. If you think about the math, £100 per rider x 5 £500 (imagine what you could do with that!). You could simply look to rent or insure someone in a club members van for a couple of days who could provide food/drink/shelter as you ride plus make it more personal. Why not end in Saundersfoot rather than Chepstow?
Just a thought, I’ll go back under my rock now.
Self supported would be my preference. With a van could to Wales criss cross e2e then side to side finishing in Saundersfoot. As e2E how can you finish in Saundersfoot. Cycling to start staying there. Staying near Chepstow then cycling back would huge 3…
But doable perhaps could use a bit of train / van
I can get a minibus but I am limited for dates.
If we are doing it as a ride not a sportive the dates are negotiable but we should vote & stick to it
Mike I’m up for that
definitely interested, would personally prefer to do it as part of the event, but happy enough to go with the flow.
Id be up for self supporting dependent upon dates…
