MemberGreat ride this one. Good course with 3/4 really hard climbs. Very well marshalled with plenty of arrows to point where to go. Don`t think you could get lost if you tried.
But it would be nice to do a sportive without –
a) Rain
b) Wind
c) Riding the last 75 mile on your own
d) falling off
But it didn`t spoil the day. And i must say the support we got from the roadside was great. Very friendly people up there. Shame there wasn`t more riders doing it.
One for the diary next year.

MemberGreat day, some steep climbs, marshals on every junction, big yellow signs with arrows everywhere.
It was all going well until the first feed station on top of the hill 35 miles in, there was a timing mat, as you can imagine the race was on between Mike to get over the timing mat before our chairmen, once over the timing mat turning left in to the feed station, now this is when it all goes wrong, our chairman is not stopping at the feed station who is on the inside and Mike who is on the outside is turning left into the feed station, by the time i got there, Mike bike had a broken spoke in his rear wheel and Andrew leg was covered in blood, mechanic at the feed station removed the broken spoke and now the back brakes are not working on Mikes bike as the wheel is buckled, also Andrew derailer is bent so that needed some attention adding to this it is pouring with rain a good 20 minutes lost here.
So off we set and Mike back wheel is holding up, 5 miles on the Chairman was gone, this left Mike, Colin and myself for the rest of the ride. Weather improved, Great day, Will do this one again

MemberWhat a brill sportive and I think my compatriots for the day have covered the detail!! Certainly one for the climbers – made all of my time up there but lost it descending with wobbly wheel and no rear brake (not much fun I can tell you)…fair do’s to Chris Holman (Dynamos & Milford Tritons), finish time 07:09:34 … that boy drops like a stone down those hills…and rides away from you up ’em!! Defo doing that next year…come on Dynamos..you know you love the hills!!

MemberSorry to read about the crash and glad that you survived but also relived it wasn’t me for a change. That really would have sealed my reputation!!

MemberI saw the stats on Strava. 10,000ft in 100 miles. Nice!
Chris is a machine.
