It is the Pembrokeshire Charity Ride on Sunday starting from Haverfordwest Rugby Club. Suggest we should be supporting this local event!
August 8, 2011 at 3:37 pm #24307butcherboyMemberI am planning to cycle down and ride this event. Anyone else want to ride down with me meet at bloomfield at 7.30 am. I assume the ride starts at 9?

August 16, 2011 at 10:43 pm #24331ValleyManMemberThanks to Dylan I have now uploaded a number of photos of the Club tackling the Pembrokeshire Charity Ride. Some of you might spot a couple of intruders masquerading as Club members wearing our Narberth Dynamos jersey. Having posed for the photos they were not seen again…
Six of us, Kim, Dylan, Graham, Leighton and Jonathan and myself rode together around the 47mile route starting north west towards Porth-gain before heading to St Davids and then back along the coast to Haverfordwest via Newgale and Broadhaven.
The first part of the route was undulating and surprisingly flat on the run in to St Davids. The hilly bit really kicked in climbing out of Newgale but thankfully there was a feed station at this top of the hill. Thankfully no sickly gel sachets but a selection of caramel slices, jaffa cakes, flapjack, wine gums and fruit. It would have been tempting to stay there for the rest of the day.
On the climb out of Norton Haven Graham decided to draft a muck spreader and then wondered why suddenly he has no friends…
Great route, great weather and sensible pace made for an uneventful but very enjoyable ride. We rolled back into the rugby club at around 1.30 just ahead of Nick Brown. It transpired he got the time wrong and started an hour after us!
A very well supported and organised event around a great course that should be a firm fixture on our calender.
Autumn Epic anyone?

Hi All
Many thanks for supporting the Pembs Charity Bike Ride last Sunday and for
the positive feedback on your forum, 470 riders took part on the day and we
have raised over £10,000 so far with some money still coming in, I have
attached a couple of extra photos for your gallery and thanks again to
Andrew for the voucher for the raffle. Hope to see you again next year!
Thanks, Dorian
Photos have been added to the gallery and are the same as appeared in this weeks Narberth and Whitland Observer apart from I was cropped from the image.
