Humblest apologies to all for suggesting it was club policy to speed off, I realise now it is part of the initiation process. Hard love, if you like, similar to the story of Hansell and Gretel, if you can find find your way home and turn up again next week…you’re in son.

I enjoyed translating the club motto, my computer seemed to think Nemo was a fish, the adepto bit it wasn’t sure about but this must be the origins of the word adapt, reliquit is obviously without and the post bit could be a pole or stick or such. The only translation I can make sense of is ‘We can go fishing without a rod’. I love Ray Mears and all that survival stuff, is the Slinky Otter going to show us how to tickle trout?
